Merlin Clips, and what we do

We run campaigns where brands pay creators for views on short-form clips. We hold no balances for anyone. Payments settle in USDC directly from a brand's wallet to a creator's wallet.

Google sign-in, and nothing else

You sign in with Google. We store the account identifier Google gives us, your name and your email address. We store no password and we hold no token that lets us act on your behalf.

You are responsible for the Google account you sign in with. If you lose access to it, you lose access to the standing attached to it, because that is the only thing tying the two together.

What we owe a creator

When a clip is accepted into a campaign, the rate, the waiting period and the per-creator cap are copied onto that submission and frozen. A brand cannot change them afterwards, and neither can we.

You are paid on the lowest view count observed between acceptance and the end of the waiting period. Money already paid is never taken back. If your count falls, the next payment is smaller — never negative.

Payment goes to the wallet address you gave when you submitted. We cannot reverse a payment sent to an address you typed incorrectly, and neither can anyone else. Needs review.

What a brand owes

A campaign is funded from a wallet you name. We read its balance and publish whether the budget is covered. Total payouts never exceed the budget you set.

Ending a campaign stops new clips being accepted. It does not cancel work already accepted: a creator who posted under your terms is still owed for views that survive, until the settlement deadline. Needs review.

When a clip is not paid

A clip may be refused because it does not meet the brief, because the campaign budget or a cap is reached, because the waiting period has not closed, or because the whole system has been stopped. Every refusal names its reason.

A clip still inside its waiting period is not a rejection, and we do not describe it as one.

Stated rather than buried

We do not promise your clip will be accepted, that a campaign will still have budget when you finish editing, or that any particular amount will be earned.

We do not promise to detect every fake view. The product is built so that outlasting the people who sell them is unnecessary, which is a different claim.

This is early software. It can be unavailable, and a payment can be delayed by something outside our control — a platform's API, a blockchain, a cloud provider.

Either side, at any time

You can stop using this whenever you like. We can close an account we believe is being used to defraud a brand or another creator.

Closing an account does not cancel a payment already owed for views that survived. Needs review.

Terms already accepted do not move

We may change these terms. Changes do not apply retroactively to a submission already accepted — those are governed by the terms frozen onto it, which is the same principle the product runs on.
